In May 2006 silver spiked at fifteen dollars and the HUI Index also spiked at 400, today we have silver trading at seventeen dollars, having been as high as twenty dollars, and the HUI Index stands at 406!
This raises the question of whether it is better to invest in the metal itself or to invest in silver stocks?
To answer this question we need to determine why we are no longer seeing any leverage in the stocks to the metal (read more…)

As we are now of the opinion that the US dollar may spend some time going sideways, or perhaps even making some gains, we also now think that precious metals are going to take a significant drop.

We know we may sound a bit like a broken record, but gold is still too far above its 200 day moving average! This gap must be closed, and we think that closure will happen within the next couple of months. That means a $100 haircut for gold, which will hit gold stocks hard and also drag the silver price south (read more…)

As we write silver is trading around $18/oz, having pierced the magical $20/oz already this year. This year will be a good year for silver however; this current pull back could see silver re-visit its 200dma, which stands at $15/oz at the moment as explained, on the chart below.

In early morning trading our target silver company flirted with us by trading at $3.26, so we upped our instruction to buy by 1 cent to $3.26 and in small lots our order was slowly filled.
